A 1.7 km trail through the nature reserve at Tvärminne Zoological Station: lush groves, dry meadows, sea views and 16 info boards in three languages.
This trail runs through the nature reserve around the University of Helsinki's Tvärminne Zoological Station, founded in 1902. Over a short distance the scenery changes from lush groves to species-rich dry meadows and barren heath forest, and a viewpoint looks out over the Baltic Sea.
Along the trail are 16 information boards in Finnish, Swedish and English, with scientific names for the species. Many species here otherwise mostly live in Finland's southwestern archipelago.
- Length: 1.7 km.
- The nature reserve was founded in 1957 and covers about 520 hectares, including islands and water. Please stay on the trail.
The village of Tvärminne also has a longer nature trail.
